Washington, December 13, 2010
Nodal Exchange, the first commodities exchange dedicated to offering locational (nodal) futures contracts and related services to participants in the organized North American electric power markets, has been honored with the “2010 Platts Global Energy Award of Excellence” in the Rising Star finalists’ category.
Now in its 12th year, Platts Global Energy Awards program honors outstanding achievement in the energy industry, recognizing corporate and individual innovation, leadership, and superior performance in 17 categories. The Rising Star category honors new businesses for their accomplishments and potential.
“Since our launch in April 2009, we have created a large and growing community which supports power trading. We offer significantly greater granularity for electric power trading than any other exchange in the world” said Nodal Exchange Chief Executive Officer Paul Cusenza. “We are sincerely honored to be recognized by Platts for our innovation and growth.”
“We congratulate the Award of Excellence winners in the Rising Star finalists’ category for their outstanding accomplishments and helping to grow the industry, along with creating new energy jobs in a tough global economy,” said Larry Neal, president of Platts, a leading global energy and metals information provider and host of the awards program. “We’re proud of the innovation they’ve brought to their industry.”
The 2010 finalists, selected from over 200 nominations, were announced in September, and the winners were announced December 2nd at the 12th annual Platts Global Energy Awards in New York City, widely recognized as the “Oscars” of the energy industry.
